A view of the summit of Mount Precipice, also known as Mount Kedumim, just outside of Nazareth in Israel. The photograph after going up through a beautiful and inspiring path that leads to the large stone paved area seen in the image during my tour of Israel in April 2007. This area is at the top known as the Three Faiths Lookout, the large stone area observed here a center large stone, an olive tree and sign telling the story of the place in Hebrew, English and Arabic in honor of the Pope's visit to the mount in 2009. The history of the place is makes it so compelling to tourists and to myself. By tradition this is the place were a large mob of Jews tried to get rid of Jesus by throwing Him down the precipice.

The site is not far from a synagogue in Nazareth were Jesus read Isaiah 42, after which the Jews became outraged because He hinted to them that He was the Christ and they decided to throw Him down a precipice (Luke 4). This is the only precipice rather close to that synagogue in Nazareth. He read: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to announce the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to send away in release those who are oppressed" (Luke 4:18 [1]). Then, in verse 21 Jesus told the Jews congregated there: "Today this Scripture has been afulfilled in your hearing", for which they became outraged. Thus, in verses 29-30 we read the following: "And they rose up and cast Him out of the city and led Him to the brow of the hill on which their city was built so that they might throw Him down the cliff (the precipice). But He, passing through their midst, went away." Thus, what you are seeing is such precipice. Thus, Nazareth is the city were Jesus was born, were He grew up and were He was rejected.

The olive tree is the main subject of the photograph. I was fixated by it, its beauty and its aura of mystery. You can only sense it when you are there. But just behold it in the photograph. Do you note that it is bent at 3 sites, creating four directions in the tree. You have the initial portion coming out to the surface and while it starts straight upwardly, it begins to tilt ever slightly until it reaches a point were there is a clear bend toward the opposite side of growth. This second bent portion is also tilting until there is a second dramatic bending in an opposite direction, where, while with a tilt, the tree really begins to stretch upwardly. The final and third bending is more subtle and interestingly this third bending creating the fourth section and top section is in the same direction, but now the new growth is both straight and upward toward heaven, full of life, greenness, no oldness, an glory. My eyes always look for what is behind what I am seeing, especially I try to look inwardly and from God, what is the mystical meaning of what I see. This is an example, and I received my answer, yet I will not reveal it, leaving to also learn to look beyond what is seen with the eyes
