Building at the entrance to the town of Capernaum. Capernaum or "Nahum's village" was a fishing village, where Jesus' first disciples lived, is located on the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee. Specifically, Capernaum is on the side of the ancient road from Tiberias to the east of Golan, Gamla and the Jordan river, which provides the water inflow to the Sea of Galilee. It is a magnificent historical site in Israel adorned by an abundance of flowers typical to Israel that even beatified landscapes during biblical times. Some of the flowers include deep pink "Bouganvillae glabra" and red "Radunculus asiaticus" seen at left side photo and on the outer edges of a balcony seen toward left the inner background, respectively. The village is also beautified by many glorious palm trees, as those seen in the left background in the photograph. As alluded above, Capernaum is a town of great historical value and many archeological discoveries have been made within its gates. The more modern structures, including the beautiful building that is the central subject of this photograph, are at the entrance of the site and are made up of brick-like stones. Throughout the years, several archaeological excavations have unveiled two ancient synagogues built one over the other, as well of a structure thought to be the home the Apostle Peter, were Jesus himself staid and visited many times. It is also said to be one of the many Houses used by original Christians for their gatherings. The two synagogues uncovered by archeologists uncovered include a grand 4th century Ad Synagogue, the Synagogue from the time of Jesus.
